The Chiefs prop Sona Taumalolo has been found guilty of a dangerous tackle during their Super 14 match against the Queensland Reds in Hamilton last Friday, but has escaped punishment.
Taumalolo was cited for a dangerous tackle on Reds first-five eighth Quade Cooper, 11 minutes into the first half of the game.
Judicial Officer Peter Hobbs considered evidence from the player, video recordings, and heard submissions from Taumalolo's representative.
As a result, Mr Hobbs deemed that while Taumalolo's tackle breached the laws of the game, his overall culpability did not warrant any further penalty in this case.
