Queensland champion Blacks A Fake was at his scintillating best to confirm his place as the greatest Inter Dominion performer in history with a demoralising victory in the $1 million series final at Menangle Park in Sydney.
Driven by trainer Natalie Rasmussen, Blacks A Fake overcame a tough, three-wide run in the race that was run at breakneck speed, yet still found reserves of courage to score an almost three-metre win over favourite, New Zealand's Monkey King.
Smoken Up was a gallant third.
Blacks A Fake has now won four Inter Dominion grand finals from five starts in Australasia's biggest race.
He had been equal with Inter Dominion king Our Sir Vancelot (1997-99) with three grand final wins before the Menangle triumph.
