The World No.1 carded a second round 10 under par 62 to move to 12 under for the tournament and climb from a share of 16th to a three stroke lead.

The 19-year-old is now the projected winner of the season long points list the CME Globe title, which carries with it a 1.4 million dollar bonus.

Ko shot 11 birdies and one bogey in her record breaking round and she said her putter was running hot.

If she wins the tournament she'll also be named the LPGA tour's player of the year.
