The Australian cyclist Irene Digenis has won the third stage of the Women's Tour of New Zealand
from two New Zealanders , Yvette Hill-Willis and Gayle Brownlee.
They. and another New Zealander, Sia Svendsen, just held off the main bunch after breaking away nearly half way through the 87 kilometre out and back loop from Palmerston North.
There's no change in the overall standings though with the American Shelley Evans 14 seconds ahead of Australia's Ruth Corset and China's Liu Xin.
Stage four, the individual time trial, is in Palmerston North this evening.
