The American cyclist Shelly Evans takes a 14 second lead into today's third stage of the women's Tour of New Zealand.
Evans won a bunch sprint finish in yesterday's second stage into Palmerston North.... the Chinese riders Liu Xin and Wong Wan Yiu finished second and third, while New Zealander Kaytee Boyd was 4th.
Linda Villumsen is the best placed New Zealander in general classification in 6th place, 20 seconds off the lead.
Evan's US national team leads while the New Zealand national team is 8th.
Today's third stage is an 87 kilometre circuit around Palmerston North and Ashurst.
