The Bangladesh batsman Mahommed Mahmudallah says his first test century in a 145 run seventh wicket partnership with his captain Shakib al Hasan has given his side a chance of saving the test in Hamilton.
New Zealand will resume on nine for one wicket with an overall lead of 154, which their captain Dan Vettori says is about 100 less than it should've been, thanks to some poor bowling.
Shakib contributed 84 to his side's first innings of 408 before he was given out caught behind, although replays showed the ball bounced just before Brendon McCullum scooped it up.
Shakib didn't seek a referral of the decision though and Mahmudallah's philosophical about it.
