Weather intervenes in Kolkata decider

7:21 am on 18 February 2010

Bad weather in Kolkata has helped South Africa's chances of saving the third cricket test against India, and winning the series which would return them to the top of the test match world rankings.

Trailing by 347 runs on the first innings, the Proteas lost three wickets for 115 on the rain shortened fourth day, Hashim Amla holding the innings together with an unbeaten 49.

Jacques Kallis is confident South Africa can bat out the final day on what's still a very good batting pitch which isn't turning a great deal.
