Highlanders fans appear to have cause to feel aggrieved after a bad referee's call denied them a try in last night's loss to the Crusaders in Christchurch.
Flanker Adam Thomson crossed for a try after two Crusaders players got in each other's way as they tried to mark a ball dead, knocking the ball on for Thomson to pick up and stroll to the line.
But referee Chris Pollock admitted in the new post-match interview that he made the wrong call to stop play after his assistant put his flag up.
The Highlanders still closed to within a point at 18-17 late in the game before eventually losing 32-17.
