Black Caps thump Bangladesh

6:43 am on 4 February 2010

The Bangladeshi cricketers had little to offer as their tour of New Zealand got off to a fizzle with a 10 wicket loss to the Black Caps in a Twenty20 international in Hamilton.

Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first but some good bowling and poor shot selection resulted in a score off just 78... Dan vettori took 3 wickets for 6 runs, fellow spinner Nathan McCullum took 2 for 15, while the other wickets were shared by the pace bowlers.

The tourists effort in the field didn't improve, dropping a couple of catches as Brendan McCullum and Peter Ingram reached their target in the 9th over with McCullum scoring 56 off 27 balls.

Vettori says he is very happy with their performance as all the players brought their form from the domestic game to the international stage.

The two sides meet in the first of three one-dayers in Napier tomorrow.
