The first Formula One testing session of the year is over and Ferrari have completed the 3 day session in Valencia as the quickest team.
Much to the delight of the local fans it was Fernando Alonso who recorded the fastest time of the week in today's session, ahead of the Sauba of another Spaniard Pedro de la Rosa and the Mercedes of Michael Schumacher .
This was the first of four testing sessions this month before the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix on March 14th.
Of last season's main protagonists, only Red Bull weren't involved this week.
