Paraguay football player Salvador Cabanas may have dared the man who shot him in the head in the bathroom of a Mexican bar to pull the trigger.
Mexican newspaper Reforma has reported that another man in the bathroom taunted Cabanas over his recent scoring record and held a gun to the footballer's head, before the striker dared him to shoot.
Cabanas was shot at a Mexico City bar earlier this week, and he remains in hospital in a critical condition with a bullet lodged in his brain.
Cabanas was the top scorer for Paraguay in their qualifying matches for June's football World Cup in South Africa.
Local police says they're looking for a man they believe regularly visits the bar after spotting him and his bodyguard on security cameras.
