Deans to stay with Wallabies until 2011 World Cup

Australian rugby coach Robbie Deans will retain his position with the Wallabies until the 2011 World Cup, despite his side having a poor 2009 season.

Despite Australia winning just six of 14 Test matches last year, the Australian Rugby Union boss John O'Neill says the board were comfortable with Deans' performance.

O'Neill says there'll be no changes to Deans' assistant coaching line-up either, but former Brumbies and Blues coach David Nucifora will be available to help in the lineout and breakdown areas.

Although the World Cup looms next year, O'Neill says Australia's immediate objective is to win their first Tri-Nations tournament since 2001 and regain the Bledisloe Cup.
