The Black Caps are set to use all 15 members of their squad during this weekend's day-night tour match against Western Australia.

Batting coach Craig McMillan confirmed every player will play some part in the pink ball tune-up at the WACA.

"The Test was quite draining on everyone. Everyone was a bit tired and a bit sore," McMillian said in Perth on Friday.

"We've had a couple of days just to get some energy levels back and we'll use all our players over the next couple of days before we get to Adelaide," he said.

"It's important they all get some work in during the next two days, whether it be with bat or ball."

The inaugural day-night Test starts next Friday at Adelaide Oval, with Australia holding a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

"We're heading to the Test with our eyes open and we're not preempting anything," McMillian said.

"We'll just deal with whatever is thrown at us. There's a real excitement within the group, they're looking forward to something that is very new.

"It's a piece of history and who knows in three or four years it might be the norm," he said.
