The new national road cycling champion Jack Bauer has been confirmed as a starter in the Wellington Cycle Classic later this month.
The Nelson rider outsprinted Tour de France riders Hayden Roulston and Julian Dean to win the New Zealand championship in Christchurch at the weekend.
Race organiser Jorge Sandoval says Bauer will ride in a team that includes three Australians, Daniel Furmston, Benjamin Fleming and Josh Hogg, and Belgium's Jeroen Van Shelven.
