The commissioner of the indian Premier League cricket competition says former New Zealand player Chris Cairns is welcome to sue.

Cairns has started defamation proceedings in London against Lalit Modi in reponse to comments Modi made, involving allegations of match fixing, when asked why Cairns name had been removed from a list of players who registered for this month's player auction.

Modi has told the India Times he hasn't recieved any notification of defamation yet but will produce what's needed in court if it comes to legal proceedings
