The Golden Lions Rugby Union has announced the former All Black Carlos Spencer will be join the Lions ahead of the start of next month's Super 14 rugby competition.
The Union's website says the 34 year old first will join the Johannesburg based team next week after being released by his English Club, Gloucester.
Spencer has signed with the Lions for two Super rugby seasons.
The 34-year-old will also be involved in the Lions' Currie Cup campaign, assisting with player development.
Spencer played for the Blues in Super Rugby between 1996 and 2005.
