Man City post biggest ever annual loss by an English football club

Manchester City's posted the biggest annual loss ever reported by an English football club, of over $200 million.

The figure for the year to May 31st 2009, doesn't include the $250 million spending spree on Emmanuel Adebayor, Kolo Toure, Carlos Tevez, Roque Santa Cruz and Joleon Lescott.

Ticketing revenue was up by almost $4 million and TV revenue increased too, mainly as a result of City's extended run in the UEFA Cup.

Player salaries rose from $55 million to $85 million.
