Portsmouth fail to pay players again

Troubled English Premier football club Portsmouth has failed to pay their players for the third time this season.

The club has failed to pay their players wages for December, which are believed to be worth almost four million dollars.

Portsmouth has told the Professional Footballers' Association, who are propping up the club, that the delay is due to uncompleted paperwork after a short-term loan was negotiated to cover the shortfall.

The Professional Footballers' Association chief executive Gordon Taylor says he is hopeful the players will be paid tomorrow.
