Double world bowls champion Gary Lawson has edged closer to equalling Nick Unkovich's 10 national titles after making Monday's men's pairs final in Wellington.
In the semi-finals Lawson and playing partner Danny Delaney have beaten Stoke duo David Eades and Jimmy Pugh 22-13.
In the final Lawson will meet Timaru's Sean O'Neill, who won the other semi 26-7 against Johnsonville's Mark Noble.
In the women's singles Jan Khan from the Beckenham Bowling Club in Christchurch is still running strong and will feature in this year's final against Canterbury's Jan Shirley.
In the semi-finals Khan beat Birkenhead's Leanne Chinery 21-15 and Shirley defeated Lui Hare 21-16.
The women's singles final will also be played on Monday.
