The All Whites striker Shane Smeltz has re-signed with A League runners-up Sydney FC for a further two years.
The 33-year-old will now remain at the club until at least the end of the 2016-17 A-League season despite strong interest from Malaysian clubs.

Smeltz's decision to stay with the club follows the departure of Austrian marquee player Marc Janko, to whom he'd spent most of the A-League season playing second string.
