Canterbury's defended provincial cricket's Plunket Shield for the first time since the 1997/1998 season with a nine-wicket win over Northern Districts in Mount Maunganui.
Canterbury bowled Northern out for 101 in their second innings in the morning with 21-year-old Ed Nuttall completing a career-best six wickets for just 45 runs.
Then, needing only 145 runs to win, the visitors completed the rout with more than a day and a session to spare.
They finished on 150 for one with former Black Caps opening batsman Peter Fulton hitting an unbeaten 91, which included seven sixes and came off just 53 balls.
Canterbury had declared their first innings on 213 for eight after Northern declared their first innings on 256 for eight.
