A respected sevens player, the Togan-born Halai played one test for the All Blacks, against Japan in 2013.

The 26-year-old winger debuted for the Blues earlier in 2013.

He will head to Britain at the end of the year.

The Wasps firector of rugby Dai Young says Halai is incredibly strong and powerful, with great pace, and being able to attract players of his calibre, in their prime, is a reflection of the upward curve the club is following.

Having already signed Leinster first five and former Hurricane Jimmy Gopperth and Gloucester halfback Dan Robson, Young - who has himself recently signed a new four-year contract with Wasps - is pleased to have put another block in place in his rebuilding plans for next season.

Young says they've made no secret of their ambition to become a top-four side.

"Frank has already shown his potential playing for the All Blacks. Recruiting players of his ability will help us take another step towards that goal."
