The Black Sticks had already won the first three Tests. They claimed both games in Nelson 2-1 and 4-0 to add to a 3-1 result in Saturday's third Test at St. Bede's College.

The hosts found themselves trailing for the first time in the series on Sunday, before a dominant second half against the tiring Canadians put the game beyond doubt.
