The New Zealand heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker is expected to take part in his bout against Sherman "the Tank" Williams in Auckland on Thursday night.
The 22-year-old was diagnosed with "bursitis of the shoulder" after experiencing pain in his shoulder while training last week.
Parker wore a sling over the weekend and his team says he's still feeling some discomfort.
Doctor John Mayhew administered an injection this morning.
Dr Mayhew believes Parker may experience some discomfort for now, but should be OK come fight night.
Parker is currently undergoing a fitness test.
