In an effort to improve its broadcast appeal the International Rowing Federation has decided to overhaul the finals programme at World Rowing events.
Rowing's Olympic programme will now see finals spread over four days and there is a chance the new programme wil be used at next year's World Championships at Lake Karapiro.
The format of the three annual Rowing World Cup events will look into ways to attract more broadcasting from general interest television channels... possibly creating a one-hour programme featuring the 'blue ribbon' events, the singles and the eights.
National rowing federations have been asked to submit comments to FISA by mid-January with the FISA Council meeting later that month to finalise the programmes for 2010 World Rowing Events.
