Snakey says they're moving on

The All Black centre Conrad Smith says while he's disappointed in Aaron Cruden, the team has moved on from it.

On Monday it was revealed Cruden has been left at home and will miss the last two Rugby Championship matches, after he had a late night drinking on Saturday night and missed the flight to Argentina.

After their arrival in Argentina, Smith says they've had a bit of time to digest what happened. and while he's disappointed, he says they have to get over it and look forward.

Smith, who is a member of the senior management group, wasn't sure how they'd deal with Cruden when they next catch up.

Beauden Barrett is expected to get his second start at first five on Sunday, while Malakai Fekitoa is likely to run outside him, with Colin Slade in the reserves.

Cruden went out drinking late last Saturday night in Auckland and missed the flight to Argentina the next morning.

In a statement Cruden says he's deeply embarrassed and made a poor decision regarding his alcohol intake while out at dinner.

He says he has no excuse for his behaviour and has never been more disappointed in himself.

Cruden says he carries the "burden of shame and disappointment" and goes on to apologise to his All Blacks team, his family and the New Zealand public.

He says he's worked hard at gaining respect on and off the field and is devastated to have dropped his own high standards.

The All Blacks coach Steve Hansen has said Cruden will re-join the team in Brisbane next month for the third Bledisloe Cup Test against the Walalbies but Cruden accepts there could be "other disciplinary action" from the New Zealand Rugby Union.

Meanwhile Canterbury first five-eighth Tom Taylor has been called into the All Blacks squad as cover for Cruden.

Taylor's played three Tests for the All Blacks after making his debut against Australia last year.

Hansen says they're extremely disappointed at Cruden's actions which are out of character.

The following is the full statement from Aaron Cruden:

"On Saturday night, whilst out for an informal dinner in Auckland, I made a poor decision regarding the limits of my alcohol intake.

"This has resulted in the unacceptable action of me being absent from All Blacks assembly on Sunday morning and thus missing the team flight to Argentina.

"I am deeply embarrassed by this lack of judgement and have never been more disappointed in myself. I have not only let myself down, but most importantly, I have let my team down.

"I carry the burden of shame and disappointment and I am deeply apologetic to my team, to my family, and also the New Zealand public.

"I have no excuses. I have been working really hard over the past few years at gaining respect on the field as well as off the field and am devastated I have dropped my own high personal standards, as well as the standards set by New Zealand Rugby.

"I accept full responsibility for my actions and the penalty of missing the next two games, and I will work with New Zealand Rugby to undertake any other disciplinary action to work through this situation."
