Double win for New Zealanders at Indonesian Ironman

New Zealanders Cameron Brown and Gina Crawford have won the men's and women's title at the Bintan Ironman competition in Indonesia.

The Bintan Islands course covered a 3.8-kilometre swim, a 180-kilometre bike leg and a 42-kilometre run.

Brown, a ten time Ironman New Zealand winner, was among the lead pack on the swim and at the fron to the bike leg and pulled away from defending race champion Courtney Ogden of Australia at the halfway stage of the 42km run to win.

Crawford was first out of the water in the women's race but was overtaken by German Diana Riesler early on in the bike leg.

Crawford though who trailed by five minutes after the bike ran down Riesler on the marathon to evenutally win by two and a half minutes.
