The Junior Warriors' player James Bell has been banned by the National Rugby League's judiciary for three games after being found guilty of spitting blood.

The Junior Warriors' player James Bell has been banned by the National Rugby League's judiciary for three games after being found guilty of spitting blood.

Bell had a contrary conduct charge referred straight to the NRL judiciary over the incident that occurred in the 58th minute of last weekend's 40-34 loss in their under-20s clash with Newcastle at Hunter Stadium.

Bell told the hearing on Wednesday night he didn't intend to spit on Knights back-rower Joseph Boyce.

The sanction means Bell will only play again this season if the Junior Warriors qualify for the finals.
