The champion Australian jockey Damiel Oliver has won his appeal against a one month suspension for testing positive to the prohibited substance ephedrine on Derby Day at Flemington on October 31.
Oliver claimed his positive urine sample resulted from a herbal supplement, which he had been taking since 2000 without any previous issues.
His suspension was downgraded to a severe reprimand by the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board at his hearing yesterday in Melbourne.
Oliver has called on Racing Victoria to clarify its rules about supplements.
