Ambivalence is the overwhelming sentiment among the New Zealand cricket camp to the official introduction of the new decision referral system which will come into play in them openuing test against Pakistan in Dunedin.

The system has been trialled previously but the tomorrow's test will be the first in the world to officially adopt the system whereby side's can have two unsuccessful appeals per inninngs.

New Zealand skipper Dan Vettori believes only one query per innings would stop teams simply having a guess.

He says having played a long time without the referral system and had no qualms about the old system and hopes on field umpires aren't taken out of the game as they are an integral part of it but only time will tell.
