Discipline will be paramount for the Crusaders tonight when they meet the Sharks in their Super Rugby semi-final at Christchurch.
The home team has been bolstered by the return of Richie McCaw from injury, but the industrious flanker will need to be careful not to give away penalties.
His captain, Kieran Read, says the Sharks' super boot Francois Steyn will punish the Crusaders for any indiscretion.
Read says Steyn is likely to take any three pointers that are on offer and keep the scoreboard ticking over against the Crusaders.
McCaw says his team must learn from their semi-final failures in the previous two seasons.
The Crusaders lost to the Chiefs by three points in 2012 and by one point in 2013.
They were also beaten by the Sharks 30-25 earlier this season in Christchurch.
The All Black captain says the Crusaders failed to deal with the critical moments in those matches and tonight they have to be good enough to nail them.
The Waratahs host the Brumbies in the second semi-final this evening in Sydney.
