Alberto Contador has returned to Madrid for treatment on his broken shinbone after crashing out of the Tour de France, and he faces a race against time to regain full fitness for next month's Tour of Spain.
The dual Tour de France winner can expect to be out of action for at least six weeks, and the Tour of Spain starts in just under six weeks on the 23rd of next month.
