Big win for Junior Black Sox

11:38 am on 16 July 2014

The Junior Black Sox softball team have crushed their latest opponents at the Junior Men's World Championships title in Canada beating Denmark 18-0 in just three innings.

Auckland's Maddix Rice hit a grand slam home run (all bases loaded) while fellow Aucklander Cole Evans hit a home run scoring two other players.

The ease of the victory surprised assistant coach Jarrad Martin who thought Denmark would be stronger.

The Junior Black Sox have now beaten Australia, USA and Denmark in their three games at the tournament so far.

They next face Canada before playing Japan and Argentina.

The playoffs begin on Sunday.
