The first England-India cricket Test in Nottingham fizzled out to a draw as India declared on 391 for nine late on the fifth day at Trent Bridge.

The tourists recovered from losing three wickets early in the final day, and two of their tail-end batsmen scored half centuries to deny England any chance of victory.

The match featured an all-time record 10th-wicket partnership of 198 between England's specialist batsman Joe Root who made an unbeaten 158, and pace bowler James Anderson, who made 81 batting at number 11.
