The Melbourne Victory A-league football club have signed French defender Matthieu Delpierre on a one-year deal.
The 33-year-old, who led VfB Stuttgart to the Bundesliga title in 2006-2007, joins the Victory from Dutch club FC Utrecht.
His arrival follows the addition of star striker Besart Berisha and midfielder Carl Valeri to the side's squad for next season.
The six-foot-four centre back played 162 games for Stuttgart in the German top-flight between 2004 and 2012, before briefly switching to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
He previously enjoyed a stint at French outfit Lille from 1999 to 2004.
