Kvitova, the sixth seed, won the Wimbledon title in 2011 and beat the 20-year-old Canadian in their only other encounter.

Bouchard says she's excited to play in her first grand slam final and is looking forward to the challenge.

She beat the 3rd seed Simona Halep in the semi-finals and the 9th seed Angelique Kerber in the quarters, as well as knocking out the French woman Alize Cornet who dispatched Serena Williams in the third round.
