Germany is in shock and disbelief over the suicide of the national football team's goalkeeper Robert Enke.
After Enke jumped in front of an express train travelling 160 kilometres an hour, it was revealed that the 32-year-old had been suffering from depression since 2003, but only his close family knew.
His wife Teresa said her husband feared that if he went public about his depression, he would lose everything, and football was his life.
Germany have called off this weekend's friendly international against Chile.
