Warriors back in NRL top eight

11:53 am on 30 June 2014

The Warriors are back in the National Rugby League's top eight after last night's 30-20 win over the Penrith Panthers at Mt Smart Stadium.

Penrith came into the match on a six game winning streak and in second place on the ladder, but were undone in the second half after leading 16-12 at the break.

The result vaults the Warriors into eighth spot on 18 points, although they could be squeezed out if the Storm beat the Dragons tonight.

The coach, Andrew McFadden, says they need to continue to work hard to keep their position on the ladder.

The Warriors' have a week off with the bye before they host the Parramatta Eels next Saturday.
