NZ equestrian team targeting gold at World Games

Equestrian New Zealand says anything less than gold will be considered a disappointment at the World Equestrian Games, after naming a strong four-man team for the event in France in August.

Jock Paget has been included, providing he's fully cleared by the final ruling from the FEI Tribunal after his horse Clifton Promise tested positive for a banned substance last year, which led to the New Zealander being stripped of his Burghley title.

Earlier this month his provisional suspension was lifted, allowing him to return to competition and Equestrian New Zealand are confident Paget will have his suspension overturned.

Burghley champion Andrew Nicolson, double Olympic gold medallist Sir Mark Todd and Tim Price round out the team.

Equestrian New Zealand's high performance director Sarah Harris says they're heading to France to bring back gold.
