New Zealand Cricket says it will support the appointment of an Indian official at the centre of corruption allegations, in becoming the most powerful figure in the game.
Narayanaswami Srinivasan, the president of India's board of control, will become the first chairman of the International Cricket Council at its annual meeting in Melbourne today.
His appointment is part of a constitutional change which will give the so called big three of India, England and Australia greater control of the game.
The Supreme Court in India has banned Srinivasan from being president of the Indian board of control while a corruption investigation around his IPL franchise, the Chennai Super Kings, is carried out.
New Zealand's ICC representative Martin Snedden says they don't know what the allegations are exactly but believe there's nothing to warrant them not agreeing to a deal, which was worked out earlier this year.
That deal says Snedden will leave New Zealand Cricket better off financially and also guarantee its test programme through until 2023.
