Uncapped Sharks centre Paul Jordaan and veteran Montpellier midfielder Wynand Olivier have been called up to the South Africa squad for this month's rugby internationals against Wales and Scotland.
The pair replace Juan de Jongh and Frans Steyn after the former was ruled out with illness and the latter withdrew for personal reasons.
De Jongh is the fifth centre to drop out of international contention in the last month. He was admitted to hospital on the weekend and treated for pneumonia before being discharged.
Also missing for South Africa with injuries are captain Jean de Villiers, Damian de Allende and Jaque Fourie on the sidelines, leaving the Boks to start Sunday's first Test against Wales with converted wing JP Pietersen at centre and Jan Serfontein, earning his first start, on the inside.
De Jongh is the latest addition to a long list of injured players unavailable for selection against Wales in Durban on Sunday and a week later in Nelspruit, as well as a one-off fixture against Scotland in Port Elizabeth on June 29th.
The others are Eben Etzebeth, Pat Lambie, Frans Malherbe, Scarra Ntubeni, Frik Kirsten, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Franco van der Merwe, Arno Botha, Pierre Spies, Louis Schreuder and Gio Aplon.
