The New York Rangers have beaten the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 to revive their slim hopes of winning ice hockey's Stanley Cup for the first time in 20 years.

Needing a win to stay alive in the best-of-seven series after losing the first three games, the Rangers held their nerve to win Game Four at Madison Square Garden.

The series returns to California on Saturday with game five in Los Angeles.
