Russian tennis player banned for life

The Russian tennis player Andrey Kumantsov has been banned for lifeafter being found guilty of multiple violations of the sport's rules on betting and match-fixing.

The 27 year old Kumantsov, was found guilty of 12 charges under the anti-corruption programme after an investigation by the London-based Tennis Integrity Unit, which was setup by the grand slam tournaments, the ATP and the WTA.

No details of the offences, which were committed between 2010 and 2013, have been given.

Kumantsov, reached a career high ranking of 261 in 2010.
