The Waikato golfer Steven Alker will play alongside South African Garth Mulroy and American Bobby Gates for the first two rounds of this week's US Open at Pinehurst in North Carolina.
Alker won a place in the event through qualifying.
Gates won the New Zealand Open in 2010.
Defending champion Justin Rose of England will play alongside American Phil Mickelson and US amateur champion Matthew Fitzpatrick.
The first round is Friday morning.
