Nic White and Bernard Foley will form a new Wallabies halves pairing with long-serving halfback Will Genia unable to even gain selection on the bench for the first rugby Test against France on Saturday.
White, who plays for the ACT Brumbies, will start at halfback while Foley has been given the five eighth berth ahead of New South Wales Waratahs team-mate Kurtley Beale, who's been named in the reserves for the Brisbane match.
Nick Phipps is the preferred reserve halfback ahead of Genia.
Coach Ewen McKenzie has also handed a Test debut to Brumbies lock Sam Carter alongside Rob Simmons, with former skipper James Horwill relegated to the bench.
Wycliff Palu has claimed the No.8 spot for his 50th appearance for the Wallabies, and loosehead prop James Slipper will also have the opportunity to notch up a 50th Test cap on Saturday.
After the Brisbane test, Australia will play France in Melbourne and Sydney on the following weekends.
