The chief executive of the Warriors Wayne Scurrah has resigned and will be replaced by the former chief executive of New Zealand Rugby League Jim Doyle.

Scurrah has been with the Warriors for nine years and will remain in the role until mid-November.

Doyle has been chief operating officer with the NRL since last year and says he and his wife are homesick.

He says he made it clear to the NRL when he took up the role he only intended to stay in Sydney for two to three years.
