Brent Impey has been elected chair of New Zealand Rugby following the recent retirement of Mike Eagle.
Impey is a former chief executive of Mediaworks and was appointed an independent board member in 2012.
He was elected to the position at today's monthly board meeting in Wellington.
Impey was also closely involved in the 2011 review of the structure of Super Rugby franchises, has served on the Chiefs board and has a long time involvement with the sport at grassroots level.
