McIlroy buliding confidence but still struggling with break-up

The Northern Irish golfer Rory McIlroy believes the confidence gained from winning the British PGA Championship can act as a launch pad for climbing back up the world rankings and more importantly targeting the year's three remaining majors.

However after enduring the very public break-up of his engagement to Danish tennis star Caroline Wozniacki the day before the tournament started, the 25-year-old concedes he still doesn't know quite how to feel the day after clinching victory at the European Tour's flagship event.

McIlroy remains 10th in the world rankings released today, with Australian Adam Scott at number one and Sweden's Henrik Stenson leapfrogging the injured Tiger Woods to second.
