New Zealand football fans are mourning the loss of former All White Duncan Cole who died suddenly at his home in Auckland on Wednesday.
He was 55.
Cole played 92 matches for New Zealand including all three of the All Whites' games at the 1982 World Cup in Spain.
Alongside him in the midfield at that tournament was Grant Turner, who says Cole was known as Dependable Dunc, as he never let anybody down on or off the field.
Captain of the '82 World Cup side Steve Sumner says Cole will be remembered for his tireless defence, a long throw and his necklace made from white beads.
He says the All Whites may wear similar neck chains in next week's game with South Africa.
