England beat Sri Lanka in first ODI

The England cricketers have beaten Sri Lanka by 81 runs in a rain affected first one-day international at The Oval.

England batted first and made 247 for 6 with Gary Ballance top scoring with 64.

Rain then interupted Sri Lanka's innings twice and they were bowled out for 144 chasing 226 in 32 overs.

Chris Jordan and James Tredwell took 3 wickets each.

The second of five one-dayers is at Durham on Sunday night.
